More on hedge cutting

Lawn Mowing

Striped, clean-edged lawn mowing and grass cutting on a weekly or fortnightly rhythm across Havant, Emsworth, Waterlooville and Cosham. We bring our own kit, take the clippings, leave the grass tighter than we found it.

Garden Maintenance

Full garden maintenance contracts — hedge cutting, mowing, weeding, seasonal cut-backs and leaf clearance. One number, one team, one standard, year-round.

Gardening

Regular gardening rounds across Hayling Island and Havant — planting, pruning, bed-tidying and the small details that keep a garden looking deliberate rather than just cut.

Fencing

Feather-edge, panel and post-and-rail fencing installed across Hayling Island, Havant and Waterlooville. Storm-damaged boards replaced, gates hung, posts concreted properly.

Weeding & Ivy Removal

Hand-weeding beds, paths and driveways, plus ivy stripped off walls and fences without wrecking the brickwork underneath. Done thoroughly so it stays gone.

Mulching & Bark Chip

Beds weeded out and finished with a proper depth of bark mulch or wood chip across Hayling Island, Havant and Emsworth. Mulching locks moisture into the soil through summer, smothers weeds before they start and feeds the beds as it breaks down — so a garden that gets mulched needs far less weeding for the rest of the year.

Real photographs from gardens across Hayling Island, Havant, Emsworth and Waterlooville — hedges cut and shaped, lawns mown and edged, borders weeded and mulched, ivy stripped back to bare brick.

Areas We Cover

Hedge cutting & lawn mowing near you.

We’re based on Hayling Island and work right across the Havant and Portsmouth border. If your town is on this list, chances are we’re already cutting hedges on your road most weeks.

Hedge Cutting on Hayling Island

Home turf. We cut hedges and mow lawns right across the island, from Eastoke and Sandy Point up to Northney and West Town. The salt wind batters hedges here, so most want two cuts a season.

Hedge Cutting in Havant

Regular hedge cutting and lawn mowing rounds through Havant, Leigh Park and Warblington. We’re ten minutes over the bridge, so short-notice jobs are usually no trouble at all.

Hedge Cutting in Emsworth

Hedge cutting, trimming and lawn mowing across Emsworth and Westbourne. Plenty of mature privet and laurel around here that wants reducing properly every year.

Hedge Cutting in Waterlooville

Hedge cutting and grass cutting for Waterlooville, Cowplain and Lovedean. Big leylandii boundaries are common up here — we bring them down to height and keep them square.

Hedge Cutting in Cosham

Hedge cutting and lawn mowing across Cosham and up towards Portsdown Hill. Chalky ground and exposed boundaries, so hedges want a firm cut and a proper tidy-up afterwards.

Hedge Cutting in Bedhampton

Hedge trimming and lawn mowing throughout Bedhampton. Mostly fortnightly maintenance rounds through the season with a harder hedge cut in late summer.

Hedge Cutting in Purbrook & Widley

Hedge cutting, reshaping and mowing for Purbrook and Widley. Long garden boundaries here — we clear up and take away every bit of the cuttings.

Hedge Cutting in Rowlands Castle

Hedge cutting and garden maintenance around Rowlands Castle. Tall beech and hornbeam hedges are the norm out here, and we’ve got the reach gear for them.

Hedge Cutting in Denmead

Hedge cutting and lawn mowing in Denmead and the surrounding lanes. Larger rural plots, so we’ll often quote by the job rather than by the hour.

Hedge Cutting in Drayton & Farlington

Hedge cutting and lawn mowing for Drayton and Farlington, including regular fortnightly rounds right through the growing season.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you do hedge cutting on Hayling Island and Havant?

Yes — hedge cutting is our main service. We cut, trim, reshape and reduce hedges of all sizes across Hayling Island, Havant, Emsworth, Waterlooville and Cosham. That includes conifer, leylandii, privet, laurel and beech. We bring our own kit and take every bit of the clippings away with us. There’s more detail on our hedge cutting page.

How much does hedge cutting cost?

Our rate is £22 per hour, per person, and most domestic hedges are done inside a morning. We give you a fixed idea of the cost before we start, and quotes are free. Price depends on the length, height and how overgrown the hedge is, plus whether the waste needs taking away.

When is the best time to cut a hedge?

Most garden hedges are best cut twice a year — once in late spring and again in late summer or early autumn. Fast growers like leylandii and privet often want two or three cuts a season. We avoid cutting active nesting sites between March and August, as nesting birds are protected by law, and we always check a hedge before we start.

Do you cut tall, overgrown or leylandii hedges?

Yes. We reduce overgrown and neglected hedges back to a manageable height and reshape them so they thicken up properly. Tall conifer and leylandii hedges are routine work for us. If a hedge has been left for years, we’ll tell you honestly what it will look like after a hard cut before we touch it.

Do you offer regular lawn mowing and garden maintenance?

Yes. We run weekly, fortnightly and monthly rounds for lawn mowing and garden maintenance across Hayling Island, Havant, Emsworth, Waterlooville and Cosham. That covers grass cutting, edging, weeding, hedge cutting and seasonal tidy-ups. Most gardens settle into a fortnightly rhythm through the growing season.

Which areas do you cover?

We’re based on Hayling Island and cover Havant, Emsworth, Waterlooville, Cosham, Bedhampton, Purbrook, Widley, Drayton, Farlington, Denmead, Rowlands Castle and the northern edge of Portsmouth. If you’re just outside that, ring us anyway — we’ll tell you straight if we can get to you.

What other garden services do you provide?

Alongside hedge cutting and lawn mowing we do general gardening, weeding, mulching and bark chip, ivy removal, fencing, seasonal cut-backs and leaf clearance. We also take on patios, paving and outdoor tiling when asked. We work on residential gardens and small commercial grounds.

Do you do mulching and bark chip on garden borders?

Yes. We weed the beds out properly first, then lay bark chip or wood chip mulch at a depth that actually works — around 5 to 7cm. Mulching holds moisture in the soil through a dry summer, stops most weed seeds germinating and feeds the border as it breaks down, so the beds need far less attention for the rest of the year. It’s a cheap job that saves money on weeding later, and we do it right across Hayling Island, Havant, Emsworth, Waterlooville and Cosham.

How often does a garden need mulching?

Once a year is plenty for most gardens. We usually top up each spring, once the soil has warmed but before the weeds get going, which gives the borders cover for the whole growing season. Bark chip breaks down over roughly twelve to eighteen months, so an annual top-up keeps the depth right.

Do you do fencing work?

Yes — feather-edge, panel, post-and-rail and gate installations. We replace storm-damaged fences and install new boundary fencing for Hayling Island, Havant, Emsworth and Waterlooville properties.

Do you lay patios or do tiling?

We do, though it’s not our main line of work — hedge cutting and lawn mowing keep us busiest. We’ll happily take on patio laying, paving and outdoor tiling for existing customers across Hayling Island, Havant and Emsworth, and we prep and lay properly so it stays level and drains through a wet Hampshire winter. Give us a ring and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a job for us.
